We welcome everyone to our football sessions, regardless of gender, football ability, ethnicity or background. No official mental health diagnosis is required, please contact us to join!
Football is used as a tool to encourage physical activity, social interaction, and positive mental wellbeing. Participants are able to take part at their own pace, build confidence, and connect with others in a shared, understanding environment. By removing pressure, competition, and judgement, our sessions create an accessible space where people can enjoy being active, form meaningful connections, and support their mental health.
Our volunteers attended the Montirex 'Break the Wall' mental health event in partnership with CALM.
It was great to hear the open conversation around how mental health has affected some well-known idividuals, including co-founders of Montirex, local rappers and successful boxers.
We attended the Jade Roberts World Suicide Day tournament. This was our first tournmant and it was wonderful to be a part of such an important cause. Our volunteers ran a stand, signposting HeadStart and starting important converations around mental health.
We also ended up winning the Jade Roberts Cup!
We take part in the premier Division of the ability counts league once per month. This is an opportunity for our participants to take part in slighlty more competitive football and is also open to everyone in our programme. It is always a great day full of laughter amongst the team.
